Upper Deck Launches Business-to-Business Website for Certified Diamond Dealers

Carlsbad, CA – (October 11, 2007) – In 2005, Upper Deck began exploring an initiative to allow dealers to place orders on-line in lieu of calling them in.  A variety of hobby dealers were surveyed to get a better understanding of what their needs were while also making sure hobby shops were comfortable purchasing product on-line.  After years of development, Upper Deck today launched a Business-to-Business website at www.upperdeckb2b.com.

The website is designed for every type of hobby shop, whether they purchase direct from Upper Deck or not.  It will serve as an open arena to provide every type of account with the information and tools needed to be successful.  It is also designed to speak to all three divisions of the company, sports cards, entertainment and authenticated collectibles.

Any customer can visit the site and view the most updated release calendars, view previous Diamond Dealer Newsletters and product portfolios, view ideas for in store events, check out co-op programs available, access marketing tips, get information on running tournaments and more.

“Accounts purchasing direct with Upper Deck are in store for even more enhanced service,” shared Mike Phillips, Director of Hobby Sales for Upper Deck.  “No longer will they need to call in an automated line and hope they get the product they need.  They can now log into the site with their account number and pin to see every product available, order what they want and get immediate confirmation of these orders.  Their time is valuable, so we want this process to be quick and easy for them.”

Direct Accounts will be able to get tracking information on orders after they ship, review older orders, print invoices and choose between two different carriers (DHL and Fed Ex) to have their product delivered through.  The site also features a new wait list capability that will allow direct accounts to request product not currently available to them.  As long as the request is reasonable, the product will be sold in a responsible manner and there is product available, UD will likely be able to meet their needs direct or through an authorized distributor.

The Upper Deck Direct phone ordering system will be phased out in November.  Certified Diamond Dealers are encouraged to visit the site as it is now live.  As a thank you to dealers for their feedback throughout this process, Upper Deck is offering a special promotion to customers who visit the Sports Card home page on the website.  The first 500 customers who log in and view the main sports page can sign up for a free Certified Diamond Dealer polo style shirt
